Steel wire armoured (swa – Earth Continuity Conductors)
SWA (ECC) is used as main power distribution in general industries, houses and commercial buildings where the concentric earth eliminates the need for a supplementary earth continuity conductor. It is suitable for direct burial installations as well as in air or ducts with no further protection. SWA (ECC) is constructed with high conductivity annealed stranded copper conductors, XLPE/PVC insulated cores, PVC bedded, galvanized steel wire armouring with earth continuity conductors and finally sheathed with flame retardant PVC to prevent the spread of fire.
